Protex is the world’s first electrical safety device to:

  • Be Fail Safe with internal component monitoring
  • Be electronic, enabling programmable integration
  • Isolate in 5 milliseconds
  • Isolate at 4 milliamps
  • Detect input voltage 110 – 240V
  • Requires no earth/ground connection
  • Isolates without generating a fault current

Protex iFS is versatile and can be:

  • A retro-fit solution for portable power
  • Safety switch for low voltage electrical distribution systems:
    1. Replacing the RCD / GFCI in the Switchboard
    2. Protecting Power points

Protex can operate on all local low voltage distribution systems in the following ways:

  1. TN: Transformer required to remove earth
  2. IT: plug in safety switch
  3. TT: plug in safety switch

In all distribution systems Protex is a replacement for the RCD / GFCI.

Protex is currently developing an Intelligent EDS that will incorporate a management system and programmable iFS.

Protex is protecting generators at the BHP Billiton Mount Arthur mine in the Hunter Valley, NSW and Mt Owen mine.
